Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, F&B, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and events. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighborhoods. Lifestyle is convenient and urban, with excellent public transport, modern amenities, safe streets, humid tropical weather, and relatively high living costs, particularly for housing. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is commonly used for qualifying professional roles, while the S Pass applies to eligible associate-professional positions and has quotas. Employers normally handle the application. Relocation costs, rental prices, healthcare arrangements, and tax obligations should be reviewed before accepting an offer. Singapore’s central location also makes travel around Southeast Asia easy.
