Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. The culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, with English widely used in business and daily life. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, safe streets, efficient services, diverse hawker food, modern shopping areas, parks, and an active urban lifestyle. Accommodation can be expensive, particularly near the city centre, so shared housing or locations near MRT stations may be practical. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; hospitality roles may use permits or passes depending on salary, qualifications, nationality, and sector requirements. Employers usually handle the application, but approval is governed by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Before relocating, confirm salary, service charge, housing, medical coverage, working hours, and pass eligibility in writing.
