Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, casinos, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. The culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, and English is widely used at work. Lifestyle options include efficient public transport, excellent food, shopping, parks, beaches and a warm tropical climate. Housing can be expensive, especially near the city centre, so many newcomers rent rooms or apartments in suburban areas. Foreign professionals usually need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, while some roles may qualify for an S Pass; approval depends on salary, qualifications, occupation and government assessment. Candidates should confirm the current Ministry of Manpower requirements before relocating. Employers may assist with relocation, but applicants should budget for accommodation, deposits, insurance and daily expenses.
