Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, well-connected city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, finance, technology, logistics, retail, and professional services. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and generally punctual, with a strong emphasis on respect, cleanliness, and efficiency. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, hawker food, shopping, museums, parks, beaches, and lively neighbourhoods such as Marina Bay, Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam. Rent can be expensive, so shared accommodation is common for interns and young professionals. International students may need a Training Employment Pass or another approved pass, while longer-term employees typically require an Employment Pass or S Pass sponsored by an employer. Check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating. The tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
