Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Workplace culture is generally punctual, performance-focused and multicultural, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, arts, parks and easy access to beaches and neighbouring countries. Foreign professionals normally need employer-sponsored permission such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and the employer’s application. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, as housing is expensive, and arrange health insurance, banking and mobile service after arrival. Public transport is reliable, while car ownership is costly. Singapore’s climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Check current Ministry of Manpower requirements before accepting an offer or relocating.
