Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its diverse population includes Chinese, Malay, Indian and international communities, creating a multicultural environment where English is widely used. The lifestyle is safe, convenient and fast-paced, with excellent public transport, shopping, dining, parks and attractions. Housing can be expensive, particularly near the city centre, so many workers share accommodation or live in surrounding neighbourhoods. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is aimed at qualifying professionals, while the S Pass and Work Permit cover other eligible roles subject to salary and quota rules. Candidates should confirm the applicable pass with Marina Bay Sands before accepting an offer. Singapore's tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, so comfortable clothing and good budgeting are important.
