Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, retail, tourism, finance, technology, logistics and professional services. The culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. Life is convenient and safe, supported by excellent public transport, modern healthcare and abundant dining and leisure options. Housing and childcare can be expensive, especially in central areas, so applicants should compare total compensation with living costs. Foreign professionals generally require an employer-sponsored pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government approval. Employers often guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking access and tax registration, and should understand local employment and immigration rules before relocating.
