The Technician/Senior Technician (Facilities) is responsible for maintaining and repairing building services and facilities at Marina Bay Sands. Duties may include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and other property systems, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Candidates should have relevant technical qualifications, hands-on facilities or building-services experience, and a practical understanding of workplace health and safety. Senior applicants are expected to work independently, diagnose complex faults, guide junior technicians, complete maintenance records, and coordinate effectively with other departments and contractors. The role requires shift flexibility, good communication, attention to detail, physical fitness, and a strong commitment to guest comfort and uninterrupted resort operations.
Marina Bay Sands is one of Singapore’s best-known integrated resorts, operated by Las Vegas Sands. Located in the Marina Bay district, the property combines luxury hotel accommodation, convention and exhibition facilities, restaurants, entertainment, retail, a casino, and iconic attractions such as the SkyPark. The resort employs a large, international workforce across hospitality, engineering, security, technology, finance, events, and guest services. Its facilities teams support a complex, high-profile property that operates around the clock, so reliability, safety, and service standards are important. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with structured procedures, training opportunities, and exposure to large-scale hotel and commercial systems. Marina Bay Sands is also prominent in Singapore’s tourism and business-events sectors and regularly recruits both experienced professionals and skilled technical staff.
Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, engineering, technology, finance, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and service-oriented, with excellent public transport, safe neighbourhoods, diverse food, shopping, and abundant parks. Living costs are relatively high, especially rent, although public transport is affordable and efficient. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass. Technicians may qualify for an S Pass or, depending on salary and qualifications, an Employment Pass; approval depends on government criteria and employer quota. Before relocating, secure a written offer, confirm pass sponsorship, understand medical insurance and accommodation costs, and check tax obligations. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, so suitable clothing and housing air-conditioning are useful.
