Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, conventions, technology, finance and retail, although competition can be significant. Its culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, and English is widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe, convenient and urban, with efficient public transport, excellent food, modern healthcare and many attractions, though housing and daily expenses can be high. Singapore has a tropical climate with year-round heat, humidity and frequent rain. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to government eligibility requirements and salary criteria. Before relocating, candidates should confirm pass sponsorship, accommodation costs, taxes, healthcare coverage and contract conditions. Public transport usually makes car ownership unnecessary.
