Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, multicultural island city with opportunities in hospitality, events, tourism, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, and entertainment. Housing can be expensive, especially near the city centre, so newcomers often consider shared accommodation or areas connected by MRT. International interns and employees must hold the appropriate pass before starting work; eligibility depends on the role, salary, qualifications, and employer sponsorship. Students commonly use an internship-related Training Employment Pass or another approved training arrangement, while full-time professionals may require an Employment Pass or S Pass. Confirm current requirements with Marina Bay Sands and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating.
