The candidate should be able to interpret specifications, create and assess prototypes, solve design and production issues, and collaborate with merchandising, development, quality and manufacturing teams. Strong analytical, communication and project-management skills are important. Knowledge of CAD or product-development software, materials, fit, testing and manufacturing processes would be advantageous.
