The OOW Engineering Watch is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient engineering watch aboard an offshore vessel or installation. Typical requirements include an STCW-compliant engineering officer certificate, relevant marine or offshore experience, valid medical and safety certificates, and strong knowledge of diesel engines, power-generation systems, pumps, and emergency procedures. The candidate is expected to monitor machinery, carry out inspections and planned maintenance, respond to alarms, maintain accurate engine-room logs, and support repairs and troubleshooting. Good English communication, teamwork, discipline, and the ability to work rotational shifts in demanding offshore conditions are essential. Experience with offshore support vessels, dynamic positioning systems, or international projects may be advantageous.
