Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics, retail and professional services. Its diverse culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals and excellent food scene. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, with efficient public transport, modern shopping areas, parks, beaches and easy access to neighbouring Southeast Asian destinations. Rental housing can be expensive, so applicants should compare accommodation, transport and living costs before relocating. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; approval depends on qualifications, salary, experience and current government criteria. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should arrange a valid passport, employment contract, medical or background documents if requested, suitable insurance and temporary accommodation before departure.
