Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands, particularly in hotels, restaurants, tourism, and wellness. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, temples, vibrant food culture, and a large expatriate community. Living costs vary considerably: resort areas can be expensive, while local neighborhoods are more affordable. Respect for religious customs, modest dress at temples, and awareness of local ceremonies are important. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and KITAS or the applicable Indonesian work and residence authorization; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with sponsorship, accommodation, flights, insurance, and relocation, but these details should be confirmed in writing. Basic Indonesian is useful, while English is common in international hotels.
