Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, food and beverage, aviation, retail, finance, technology, and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, shaped by Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international communities, and English is widely used at work. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, and vibrant city entertainment. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so accommodation and daily expenses should be planned carefully. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. The employer normally submits the application to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower. New arrivals should secure an employment contract, confirm pass eligibility, arrange housing, and understand local employment and healthcare requirements before relocating.
