Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao, and resort islands such as Mactan and Bohol. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit staff for housekeeping, laundry, food and beverage, guest services, engineering, wellness, and management. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and respectful, while English is widely used in workplaces. Island living can offer beaches, outdoor activities, fresh seafood, and a relaxed lifestyle, although transport, healthcare, and internet access vary outside major cities. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work visa or permit sponsored or supported by the employer; requirements can include an employment contract, immigration approval, and local registration. Filipino applicants relocating between islands should budget for transport, housing deposits, and daily commuting. Confirm accommodation, meals, benefits, contract terms, and visa responsibilities directly with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
