Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, marketing, creative media, business-process outsourcing, healthcare, education, and technology. Major employment hubs include Metro Manila, Cebu, Clark, Boracay, and Davao, while resort islands such as Palawan, Bohol, and Siargao attract tourism professionals. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented, diverse, and strongly influenced by Spanish, American, and regional traditions. Life can be lively and affordable, although Manila is busy and traffic is heavy; island locations offer a more relaxed lifestyle but may have fewer services and higher transport costs. Filipino citizens can work without a visa. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and appropriate work visa, commonly a 9(g) employment visa. Before relocating, confirm the contract, accommodation, healthcare, taxes, and legal work authorization with the employer.
