Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, wellness and events, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and coastal resort areas. Langkawi is the country’s best-known island destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, nature parks and a strong resort economy; Penang combines heritage, food culture and urban convenience. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hospitality workplaces. Living costs are generally moderate, though island accommodation and imported goods can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company must meet immigration and salary requirements before work begins. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, housing, insurance, flights and contract terms before relocating. Malaysia has tropical weather, reliable domestic transport and good regional air connections.
