The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and the ability to remain calm during busy functions.

Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong in 1971. The company operates hotels, resorts and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its properties are known for personalised service, comfortable accommodation, restaurants, banquet facilities and wellness offerings. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on genuine care, hospitality standards, colleague development and creating memorable guest experiences. In Hong Kong, the group has a well-established presence and serves business travellers, leisure guests, local residents and large-scale events. Working for the company generally suits people who enjoy a polished service environment, teamwork and direct interaction with guests.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination with excellent transport, a dense commercial centre and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Hospitality opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, clubs, convention venues and catering companies, particularly for candidates with banquet, culinary, front office or events experience. Cantonese is widely spoken; English is important in international hotels and Mandarin is increasingly useful. Life is fast-paced and accommodation can be expensive, so many employees share flats or live in areas connected by the MTR. Employers normally sponsor an employment visa under Hong Kong’s General Employment Policy, subject to a genuine job offer, suitable qualifications or experience, market-level pay and approval by the Immigration Department. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, medical coverage, housing support, working hours and service-charge arrangements before relocating. Hong Kong has efficient public transport, a diverse food scene and a strong professional hospitality culture.
