Company Info

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The brand is recognised for warm Asian hospitality, personalised guest service and high standards of accommodation, dining and wellness. Shangri-La Maldives operates in the remote resort environment of Villingili in Addu Atoll, where employees serve international leisure travellers in a premium island setting. The company places strong emphasis on colleague development, service culture, teamwork and creating memorable experiences for guests. Employment commonly includes resort-based benefits such as staff accommodation, meals, medical support, flights or travel assistance, and access to training programmes, although exact terms depend on the position and contract.

Destination Guide

The Maldives offers hospitality opportunities mainly in luxury resorts, with vacancies in guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, marine activities, engineering, wellness, finance and training. Resort life is international and structured, while local islands follow a more traditional Muslim culture; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected outside resort areas. Life on a resort island is peaceful but isolated, with beaches, diving, fishing and water sports forming much of the leisure experience. Maldivian resorts are usually reached by speedboat or domestic flight followed by a boat transfer. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and valid entry arrangements; the employer normally manages the application, medical checks and related approvals. Contracts commonly include accommodation, meals, transport and annual flight benefits. Candidates should confirm salary, gratuities, leave, internet access, insurance and repatriation terms before accepting an offer.
