Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, retail, and international business. Popular island destinations such as Penang, Langkawi, and parts of Sabah combine strong hospitality demand with beaches, heritage areas, and a relaxed lifestyle. Penang is especially attractive for food, culture, and year-round urban convenience, while Langkawi suits people seeking a quieter resort environment. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in tourism and business. Living costs vary: island resorts can be more expensive than inland cities, particularly for housing. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled through the company and Malaysian authorities before starting work. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical cover, transport, tax, contract terms, and whether relocation assistance is included.
