Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, professional services and regional corporate functions. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, with excellent dining, festivals, museums and a fast-paced business environment. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighbourhoods and convenient public transport to beaches, hiking trails and quieter outlying islands. For most overseas hires, an employment visa is required, usually supported by the employer and granted when the applicant has suitable qualifications, relevant experience and a confirmed job offer. Dependants may generally apply to accompany approved employment-visa holders. Relocation costs, housing and schooling can be expensive, so candidates should confirm benefits, medical coverage, bonuses and any housing allowance before accepting an offer. Hong Kong uses the Hong Kong dollar, and English is widely used in business, although Cantonese is valuable for daily life and local communication.
