Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality and security opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Malacca and coastal resort areas. Langkawi, Penang and Sabah provide island or beach lifestyles, while Kuala Lumpur offers broader career options, shopping, transport and international communities. Malaysian culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with food, festivals and respectful social customs playing an important role. Living costs are moderate compared with many international destinations, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular resort islands can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass or other employer-sponsored work authorisation before starting work; the hiring company generally handles the application. Candidates should confirm accommodation, healthcare, transport, taxation, contract terms and visa support. English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language.
