Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, food and beverage, retail, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Life is safe, clean, efficient, and convenient, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Public transport is excellent, and major attractions, shopping areas, hawker centres, beaches, and nature parks are easy to reach. Hospitality employees should expect shift work and busy periods around holidays and events. Foreign applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and sector rules. Secure a written offer before relocating, confirm pass eligibility, and budget for rent, deposits, transport, healthcare, and settling-in costs.
