The Assistant Director of Engineering supports the Director of Engineering in maintaining the hotel’s buildings, plant, equipment, utilities and guest facilities. Typical requirements include a diploma or degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical, several years of hotel or building-services experience, and knowledge of preventive maintenance, local safety regulations and energy management. The candidate is expected to lead and coach technicians, coordinate contractors, respond promptly to breakdowns, control maintenance costs and ensure reliable, safe operations. Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work shifts, weekends and on-call duties in a demanding luxury-hospitality environment.
