Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, shared services, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and regional business operations. Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley are the main employment hubs, while Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak also attract international talent. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences reflected in food, festivals, languages, and daily life. Living costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur rents can be high. The country provides convenient public transport, diverse cuisine, tropical beaches, highland retreats, and easy access to islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and Perhentian. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval dependent on role, salary, qualifications, and current immigration rules. Relocating is easiest when the employer assists with visa processing, housing, banking, healthcare, and tax registration.
