Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, conveyors, control panels and safe isolation procedures is valuable. Candidates are expected to work safely, respond quickly to breakdowns, complete maintenance records and support reliable plant operation. The role may involve rotating shifts, nights, weekends and working in a busy operational environment. Relevant engineering qualifications, such as an electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent experience, are normally preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, flexibility and a methodical approach are also important.
