Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel, manufacturing, tourism, information technology, logistics, finance, education, and healthcare. Colombo and nearby areas have the greatest concentration of professional jobs, while regional cities provide opportunities in manufacturing and tourism. The culture is diverse and welcoming, with Sinhala, Tamil, and English widely used in business and daily life. Living costs are generally lower than in many overseas destinations, although Colombo accommodation can be relatively expensive. The island offers beaches, mountains, wildlife, historic cities, and convenient domestic travel. Foreign nationals normally require an appropriate employment visa or residence authorization arranged with employer support; tourist status does not permit regular employment. Relocating candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, accommodation, taxes, healthcare, and contract conditions before accepting an offer.
