Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, as well as resort destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Redang, Perhentian, Tioman, and Sabah's islands. Jobs are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, diving, events, and guest services. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in hotels, while learning basic Malay is useful. Lifestyle costs vary: Kuala Lumpur is busier and more urban, while island locations offer a slower, outdoor-focused routine but may have fewer services. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and a Malaysian Employment Pass or relevant work authorization before starting work. Employers usually guide visa applications, medical checks, and relocation paperwork. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, taxes, and contract benefits before accepting an offer.
