Destination Guide

Thailand offers opportunities in hotel management, resorts, restaurants, tourism, wellness, diving, events, and sales, especially in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Pattaya. Bangkok is a major mainland business hub rather than an island, while the islands provide a more relaxed lifestyle, beaches, water activities, and seasonal tourism employment. Thai culture values politeness, respect for hierarchy, hospitality, and adaptability; learning basic Thai is useful. Living costs vary widely, with Bangkok and popular islands generally more expensive than provincial areas. Foreign employees normally require a Thai Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit, usually arranged with employer support before starting work. Applicants should confirm qualifications, medical requirements, tax obligations, accommodation, insurance, and whether dependants are covered. Climate is tropical, with hot weather year-round and rainy and dry seasons. Reliable transport, healthcare, international schools, and professional networks are strongest in Bangkok.
