Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with strong hospitality opportunities across Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Batam, Java, and resort islands such as the Gili Islands. Jobs are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, events, diving, wellness, and food production. Jakarta offers career growth and urban convenience, while Bali and Lombok provide a more relaxed lifestyle but can have seasonal employment and higher housing costs in popular areas. Indonesian culture values respect, community, modesty, and flexibility; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is very helpful. Major cities offer diverse food, transport, healthcare, and international communities, although traffic and humid weather can be challenging. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship, an approved work permit, and a limited-stay visa or KITAS before starting employment. Confirm current immigration rules, contract terms, accommodation, insurance, and relocation costs with the employer.
