Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and a major Asia-Pacific centre for hospitality, finance, technology and international business. Hotel and tourism opportunities range from luxury hotels and restaurants to events, attractions, aviation and travel services. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Housing, transport and dining are convenient, although living costs can be high; public transport is excellent and most areas are easy to reach. Foreign professionals generally need a work pass sponsored or supported by an employer, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government approval. Relocating employees should arrange accommodation, health insurance, banking and tax registration. Singapore offers a safe, clean lifestyle, warm weather year-round and easy access to Southeast Asia.
