Destination Guide

Bahrain is a small Gulf kingdom made up of a main island and several smaller islands, with Manama as its commercial center. Hospitality, restaurants, retail, aviation, finance, construction, healthcare, and tourism provide many employment opportunities, especially for experienced international workers. The culture combines Arab traditions, Islamic values, and a diverse expatriate community. Residents enjoy restaurants, shopping malls, beaches, water activities, museums, and a lively social scene, while summers are extremely hot and humid. Employers normally sponsor work visas for overseas hires. The process commonly involves an employment contract, medical examination, passport and document checks, and a residence permit arranged after arrival. Workers should confirm whether accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, annual leave, and return airfare are included. Manama and areas around City Centre Bahrain offer convenient services and public transport, although taxis and private cars remain common. Before relocating, candidates should verify salary, duty hours, probation terms, and all benefits in writing.
