Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, although Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island and a major hospitality destination. Job opportunities are strong in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, events, wellness, and entertainment, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; respectful dress and behavior, especially during Ramadan, are important. Lifestyle can be luxurious and social, but accommodation and transport costs are high unless included in the employment package. Employers usually sponsor a work visa, residence permit, medical examination, and Emirates ID after hiring. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, annual leave, flights, gratuities, and probation terms before accepting. Dubai offers excellent beaches, dining, shopping, desert excursions, and public transport, while summer temperatures are extremely hot and humid.
