Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, but Dubai is a highly international coastal city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, aviation, and business services. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a large expatriate community, so respectful dress, conduct, and awareness of local customs are important. Dubai offers modern infrastructure, beaches, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, desert activities, and a generally fast-paced lifestyle. Employers commonly sponsor residence and employment visas for overseas hires, subject to medical screening, document attestation, and government approval. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, probation terms, and whether salary includes service charge or incentives. Living costs, particularly rent and schooling, can be high, while the UAE generally has no personal income tax on employment earnings. Public transport is good in central areas, though many residents use taxis or cars.
