Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, education, and customer-service opportunities, with Colombo providing the broadest employment market. The island is known for its welcoming culture, strong family traditions, religious diversity, festivals, distinctive cuisine, tea, beaches, wildlife, and historic cities. Colombo has a busy urban lifestyle, while areas such as Kandy, Galle, and the hill country offer a slower pace and attractive surroundings. Living costs are generally lower than in many international hotel destinations, although accommodation and imported goods can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa or residence permission sponsored and arranged through the employer; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, contract terms, salary, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and relocation support before travelling. Sinhala and Tamil are official languages, while English is widely used in hotels and business.
