Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, but Abu Dhabi is a coastal emirate with beaches, waterfront districts and nearby islands such as Yas, Saadiyat and Al Maryah. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance and technology provide strong employment opportunities, particularly in luxury hotels and travel businesses. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beach and desert activities to restaurants, shopping, arts and major sporting events. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, residence permit, medical checks and Emirates ID after hiring. Relocating employees should confirm housing, insurance, flights, schooling and transport benefits, as living costs can be high. Abu Dhabi is generally safe, modern and well connected, although summer temperatures are extremely hot.
