Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail and business opportunities. The culture combines modern international living with Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a strong emphasis on courtesy and family. Dubai provides a diverse lifestyle, excellent restaurants, beaches, shopping, entertainment and reliable public transport, although rent and summer temperatures can be high. English is widely used in workplaces, while Arabic is the official language. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical tests, Emirates ID processing and permits after hiring. Review the offer carefully for accommodation, transport, insurance, meals, flights and gratuity. Bring authenticated qualifications where requested, budget for deposits and initial expenses, and follow local laws regarding dress, conduct, alcohol and public behaviour.
