Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, meetings and events, retail, technology, finance, and international business. Petaling Jaya is a modern urban centre beside Kuala Lumpur, with shopping malls, restaurants, healthcare, public transport, and access to airports and attractions. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in hotels and business, while Malay is the national language. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in many major global cities, though central Kuala Lumpur housing can be expensive. Foreign employees usually need employer sponsorship and an approved Employment Pass before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary, qualifications, and role. Relocating staff should arrange accommodation, insurance, banking, transport, and document verification. Malaysia also offers island destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, and the Perhentian Islands for leisure.
