Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact island country in the Arabian Gulf, with Manama as its commercial and cultural center. Hospitality, restaurants, retail, aviation, finance, healthcare, construction, and tourism provide many employment opportunities, although competition can be strong. The culture blends Arab traditions with a diverse expatriate community; modest dress, respectful behavior, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle is convenient, with modern shopping malls, beaches, restaurants, museums, and lively weekend activities. Summers are extremely hot and humid, while winters are mild. For overseas workers, employers normally arrange a work visa, residence permit, medical checks, and often accommodation or transport. Confirm the full package before accepting an offer, including basic salary, service charge, working hours, leave, insurance, and repatriation terms. Bahrain is generally easy to navigate, and English is widely used in workplaces.
