Company Info

The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa is a luxury island resort associated with Marriott International’s Westin brand, located on Nirup Island near Batam, Indonesia. The resort is designed around wellness, relaxation, nature, and premium hospitality, serving leisure travelers, families, groups, and guests seeking a secluded escape close to Singapore and mainland Batam. Westin properties are known for their focus on well-being through thoughtful food and beverage concepts, spa experiences, fitness facilities, restorative environments, and the brand’s signature service standards. As part of Marriott, the resort operates within an international hospitality network offering structured training, career mobility, and global operating procedures. Its remote island setting requires strong teamwork, practical leadership, and careful coordination across culinary, accommodation, engineering, marine transport, and guest-service operations.

Destination Guide

Nirup Island is a small resort island in Indonesia’s Riau Islands, close to Batam and within easy reach of Singapore by boat. Employment opportunities are concentrated in hospitality, including culinary, restaurant service, housekeeping, front office, spa, engineering, recreation, marine transport, and resort administration. Local culture blends Malay, Indonesian, Chinese, and other Riau traditions, with seafood, modest dress, religious diversity, and strong community values. Island life is peaceful and scenic, but shopping, healthcare, schooling, and entertainment are more limited than on Batam. Employees should expect humid tropical weather, ferry schedules, and a close-knit resort environment. Foreign nationals generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate Indonesian work permit and stay visa before starting work; tourist visas do not authorize employment. Employers commonly assist with permits, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, and relocation arrangements, but candidates should confirm all benefits and travel logistics in writing.
