Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in hospitality, engineering, construction, healthcare, technology, trades and tourism, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and regional resort areas. Australian workplace culture is generally practical, respectful and relatively informal, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, teamwork and work-life balance. Melbourne provides a multicultural lifestyle, excellent restaurants, sporting events, public transport, arts and nearby beaches and regional destinations. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in major cities. Foreign workers usually need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or working holiday visa, depending on qualifications, age and eligibility. Applicants should confirm licensing requirements for electrical, plumbing or specialist engineering work. Relocation planning should include accommodation, tax registration, health insurance, transport and proof of work rights. Australia’s large geography means travel between cities can be expensive, but domestic employment mobility is strong.
