Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a major hospitality and tourism destination, with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, aviation, retail, events, security, construction, technology, and finance, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population. Respect for local customs, modest public behaviour, punctuality, and awareness of Islamic holidays are important. The lifestyle offers modern housing, shopping, beaches, desert activities, excellent transport, and a warm climate, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges work permits, medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and related formalities. Confirm contract terms, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave, and probation conditions before relocating. Living costs can be high, particularly for housing, so the complete benefits package matters. The UAE is not an island, but it provides coastal and island destinations such as Yas Island and Palm Jumeirah.
