Destination Guide

Singapore is a highly developed island city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, logistics, healthcare, and retail. Hotel roles are especially concentrated around Marina Bay, Orchard, Sentosa, Changi, and the central business district. The culture is multicultural, orderly, efficient, and generally respectful of rules, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, shopping, hawker food, parks, and nightlife to beaches and attractions on Sentosa. Living costs, particularly rent, are high, so employer accommodation or a housing allowance can be valuable. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on salary, qualifications, and occupation. Before relocating, confirm pass eligibility, medical requirements, employment terms, and whether housing, meals, transport, or uniform benefits are included.
