Company Info

Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is a luxury hotel located opposite Sydney’s Hyde Park, close to the city’s business district, shopping areas and major attractions. It operates under the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brand, part of Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. The hotel offers guest rooms and suites, restaurants, bars, meeting and event facilities, wellness services and extensive banquet operations. Team members work in a structured international hospitality environment with strong emphasis on guest service, professional standards, teamwork and operational consistency. Marriott typically provides access to brand training, career development resources and employee travel benefits, subject to eligibility and local conditions. The property’s central location and sizeable food-and-beverage operation make it a suitable workplace for chefs seeking experience in luxury hotels, events and high-volume pastry production.

Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafés, bakeries and catering businesses, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional tourist destinations. Sydney has a multicultural workplace culture, excellent dining, beaches, parks and an active urban lifestyle, although rent and transport costs can be high. Common work visas include the Working Holiday visa for eligible passport holders, employer-sponsored visas such as the Skills in Demand pathway, and student visas with work restrictions. Skilled pastry chefs may need qualifications, relevant experience and English evidence for some visa routes. Relocating generally requires a tax file number, Australian bank account, health insurance where appropriate and suitable accommodation. Workers should check current visa rules, salary awards and sponsorship requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs before accepting an offer.
