Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hospitality jobs are concentrated around Marina Bay, Orchard Road, Sentosa, Changi and major convention areas. The culture is multicultural and generally orderly, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences; English is widely used at work. Public transport is clean and reliable, although rent can be expensive, especially near the city centre. New arrivals should budget for accommodation, transport, food and a security deposit. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and sector rules. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. Check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating.
