Destination Guide

The Cayman Islands offer opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, construction, healthcare, education, and marine services. Grand Cayman has a multicultural community, excellent beaches, warm weather, water sports, restaurants, and a generally safe, well-organized lifestyle. English is the official language, and Caymanian culture blends Caribbean traditions with strong international influences. Living costs, particularly rent, groceries, and transportation, are high, so accommodation and benefits should be confirmed before accepting an offer. Foreign nationals normally require employer-sponsored permission to work, and an internship may need specific approval through the relevant immigration process. Candidates should not begin work without the correct authorization. Relocation planning should include passport validity, medical insurance, housing, transport, finances, and return travel. Public buses and taxis are available, while many residents use cars. The climate is tropical, with a wetter hurricane season generally lasting from June through November.
