Job Description

The Assistant Front Office Manager supports daily front-desk operations, guest services, room assignment, check-in and check-out, billing coordination, complaint handling, and front-office team supervision. The role also requires accurate record-keeping, collaboration with housekeeping and other departments, coaching of team members, and consistent compliance with hotel service standards and safety procedures.

Company Info

Four Points by Sheraton Medan is an upscale business and leisure hotel operated under Marriott International’s Four Points brand. Located in Medan, North Sumatra, it serves corporate travelers, local guests, groups, and visitors exploring the region. The brand is known for practical comfort, friendly service, social public spaces, local food and beverage offerings, and its Best Brews concept. As part of Marriott’s global hotel network, the property typically follows structured operating standards, guest-service procedures, training programs, and opportunities for internal career development. Front-office employees work with guests from Indonesia and overseas, coordinating closely with housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and reservations teams. The hotel environment is professional and service-driven, with particular importance placed on reliability, teamwork, cultural awareness, and delivering a consistent guest experience.

Destination Guide

Medan is on Sumatra, Indonesia’s large western island, known for its diverse cultures, volcanic landscapes, rainforests, and access to Lake Toba, Bukit Lawang, and the surrounding islands. Hospitality, food and beverage, aviation, retail, tourism, logistics, plantations, and business services provide employment opportunities, especially in Medan and major resort areas. Local life is energetic and social, with varied Indonesian, Malay, Batak, Chinese, and Indian influences. Living costs are generally lower than in Jakarta or Bali, though traffic can be busy and the climate is hot, humid, and rainy. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work and stay permit before beginning employment; tourist visas do not authorize work. Employers commonly assist with immigration, accommodation, and relocation arrangements, but candidates should confirm these details, insurance, taxes, and benefits in writing before accepting an offer.
