Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact Gulf island country with opportunities in hospitality, retail, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, construction and events. Manama and the Seef district are the main employment and commercial centres, while Muharraq and other connected areas offer additional housing and lifestyle choices. The culture blends Arab traditions with a diverse expatriate community; modest dress and respectful behaviour are appreciated, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle is convenient and social, with malls, restaurants, beaches, museums and a lively weekend dining scene. Summers are extremely hot, but indoor facilities are well developed. Employers normally arrange a work permit and residence visa after hiring, with medical checks and document attestation commonly required. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, housing or allowance, insurance, transport, annual leave and end-of-service benefits before relocating. Bahrain is generally easy to navigate, and English is widely used in business.
