Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major destination for hospitality, tourism, marine activities, wellness, retail, and events. Job opportunities are concentrated in resorts, hotels, restaurants, spas, travel companies, property services, and tourism sales, with stronger demand in high season. The island blends Thai culture with an international community; local markets, temples, festivals, and southern Thai food sit alongside beaches, nightlife, and modern shopping areas. Lifestyle is generally relaxed and outdoor-focused, although traffic, humidity, and seasonal income variation should be considered. Foreign employees normally need a Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit, usually arranged with employer support before or after arrival. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical coverage, service charge, tax, and relocation support in writing. Phuket has an international airport, private hospitals, schools, and varied housing, though prime beach areas are relatively expensive.
